Kargil, Feb 19: The link road of Karsha – Pishu in Zanskar that was blocked due to the inclement weather, was restored within 24 hours and made open for the traffic on Sunday evening.
On receiving information regarding the blockage of the Karsha-Pishu link road, the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Zanskar, Sonam Dorjay directed the Mechanical Department and PWD for restoration of the link road immediately, the officials said.
Men and machines of the Mechanical Department were pressed into service at the blockage site at Kamal Nallah.
The SDM also visited the site to monitor the restoration work and to make sure the work is completed at an earliest.
The link road of Karsha-Rinam-Pishu was blocked due to heavy snow melting water discharge that caused heavy water accumulation at Kamal Nallah.
As the road was restored, the village representatives thanked the Administration headed by SDM Zanskar and the concerned departments for their quick response in the restoration of the road.
