Sonamarg road reopens, traffic resumes

Ganderbal, March 05: Traffic Movement on Sonamarg road reopened after remaining closed for some time due minor avalanche at Bypass road in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Sunday.
An official said that a minor avalanche occurred at bypass along Sgr-Sonamarg due to which the road remained blocked since today afternoon, as a result vehicles remained stranded.
Officials said the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) immediately pressed into service sophisticated machines and men cleared the snow from road.
SDM Kangan Javid Ahmad told Rising Kashmir that a minor avalanche occurred at bypass Sonamarg which disrupted the traffic movement.
He said that traffic was restored later after hectic efforts by administarion and BRO.
