Ulema delegation discusses people’s welfare, Sufism with Waqf Board chairperson

Srinagar, Apr 02: A delegation of Ulemas from north Kashmir’s Baramulla district led by Save Youth Save Future Foundation chairman Wajahat Farooq Bhat and its South Kashmir president Mudasir Ahmed Dar, met Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board chairperson Dr Darakshan Andrabi to discuss the welfare of people and promotion of Sufism. 
During the meeting, the delegation raised various demands and suggestions, including the establishment of schools, colleges, and hospitals for the welfare of people with the help of the J&K Waqf Board, the Foundation said in a statement. 
It said the delegation comprised Mufti Tariq Ahmed Misbahi, Mufti Qamar-Ud-Din Owaisi, President Darul Uloom Qurashia Sheeri Baramulla Farooq Ahmed Bhat, President Darul Uloom Tahirat Azhar Ud Din Farooqi, Moulana Qari Yasir Ahmed, Chairman Idare Tehqeet Imam Ahmed Raza Khurseed Ahmed Shah, Secretary Janbaz Academy Ghulam Hassan Najar, Madrasa Haya Alal Fala Hudpora Baramulla, and other representatives from various madrasas from across the district.
The Ulemas of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat congratulated Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi for the steps taken by the Waqf Board recently, including the 20 Rakat Taraweeh, Dua Subh in mosques, and transparency and accountability in the current Waqf Board. They also requested that Sufism should be promoted and encouraged.
Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured them that all genuine demands would be addressed in a time-bound manner, the statement said, adding that she appreciated the efforts of ‘Save Youth Save Future’ and the Ulemas in promoting the welfare of people and promoting Sufism.
“Save Youth Save Future” Foundation chairman Wajahat Farooq Bhat said, “We are committed to the welfare of people and the promotion of Sufism. We are grateful to Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi for her patient hearing and her assurance to address our demands.”
