Srinagar, March 07: Meet Munaza Khanam @khanamcloset, a young entrepreneur from Kashmir and a face behind KHANAM CLOSET – House of exotic fabric boutique – a store and an online platform for shopping.
Munaza has an MBA in Finance, MA in English, worked in Airtel (CMS) as FMS Engineer, and then joined various private sectors.
Hailing from the Nishat area of Srinagar, Munaza said the idea of KHANAM CLOSET came to her three years ago. “After hard work, I started the boutique in Nishat where all types of suits, shawls, stalls, pherans, stitching both online and offline are done,” she said, adding that ‘Khan Dress’ is also stitched there.
She has resellers both online as well as offline who also earn their livelihood.
“As everybody is aware of the fact that women were looked down upon, teased, hated on certain occasions and were deprived of their rights. Because of Islamic rules and regulations, women were facilitated with equal rights as men,” Munaza said.
She said women today are taking part in every sphere of life. “She is mother, wife and sister, and looks after all of them without any fear,” she said. “A woman has become part and parcel of her husband and takes care of his deeds. The Women’s Day reminds us how a woman dedicates her life for the betterment of her family and society.”
