Jammu, Feb 22: Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers (JKNPP) on Wednesday organized a function adjacent to its erstwhile office at Gandhi Nagar Jammu to formally welcome former minister Harsh Dev Singhback into the party.
According to a party statement, the enthusiastic NPP activists led by its President Vilakshan Singh Advocate and Mrs. Jaya Mala Founder member and wife of Prof. Bhim Singh gave a rousing reception to the Ex-Minister with ‘dhols’ and ‘bajas’ shouting slogans in favor of Harsh Dev Singh.
Speaking on the occasion, Harsh Dev Singh said he was advised by friends, relatives, will wishers and civil society members to revive Panthers Party which was the only recognized regional party of Jammu region.
He said that people of the erstwhile state were faced with multiple problems with none of the national parties coming forward to bail them out in times of crisis.
“The JKNPP alone could deal with such ubiquitous challenges and therefore the revival of the Panthers Party had become imperative,” said Singh.
Spelling out the priorities of NPP, Singh said that the restoration of statehood and early installation of democratic government in J&K were the need of the hour.
He said that dismantling of the oldest and historical Dogra state of J&K and its demotion as UT was the most obnoxious dent on the pride of its people.
Reiterating the need for the early elections to J&K Legislative Assembly in J&K, Singh said that any delay in this regard would not only amount to subversion of democracy but also violate the orders of the Supreme Court.
Pointing towards the growing tensions in various parts of the UT and the failure of administration to come up to the peoples’ expectations, Singh said that bureaucratic rule was no answer to the prevalent crisis.
On the occasion, Vilakshan Singh said that re-entry of Harsh Dev had re-ignited the party and boosted the morale of the rank and file of the party.
He said that Harsh Dev impact was evident from the fact that BJP had manoeuvred the sealing of NPP office out of fear and the mass public appeal which the Ex-Minister carried.
