Srinagar, June 08: Chairperson J&K Waqf Board Dr Darakshan Andrabi on Thursday said the world used to consider India a part of the Third World but since Prime Minister Narendra Modi came into power, India’s stature keeps rising.
“Prior to PM Modi’s tenure, India was considered a poor country, but now it has gained recognition as one of the top countries globally,” she said while talking to the media persons and social media influencers at a daylong program organized by BJP’s Kashmir Unit here at Amar Singh Club in Sonawar.
The event focused on the theme of “9 years of PM Modi” and showcased the achievements of the BJP government. A detailed presentation was shown to the invitees, highlighting Prime Minister Modi’s accomplishments since 2014. Several prominent figures attended the event, including Ashok Koul, BJP General Secretary for Jammu and Kashmir, MP Ghulam Ali Khatana, and other BJP leaders.
During the event, the speakers shed light on PM Modi’s achievements and emphasized that India’s reputation has significantly improved since the BJP came to power.
Whatever PM Modi has promised, he has delivered, Dr Darakhshan said. She mentioned that the BJP has achieved what the opposition failed to do in Kashmir in the last 70 years, citing the successful conduct of the G-20 as an example.
She added, “PM Modi has scripted historical changes in J&K by which we have come out of the dreaded eras of violence and hatred and a new era of peace and prosperity has begun in the UT. We have seen J&K being exploited for more than seven decades by dynasts at local as well as at the central levels, but now the real freedom from this exploitation has been achieved due to the vision of Modiji and it was the future of J&K.”
The programme also featured a question and answer session, where journalists in attendance posed various questions to the JK BJP chief spokesperson. Some of the questions revolved around the empowerment of local journalists.
A similar programme had previously taken place in the Baramulla district, where media personnel from the northern district were invited. The event received an overwhelming response.
Abhijit Jasrotia did a powerpoint presentation highlighting the Modi government’s major “people-friendly” schemes & programmes which he said, “have changed the lives of people in the country”.
MP Ghulam Ali Khatana gave details about special programmes of the BJP government for weaker sections of society. Chief Spokesperson Sunil Sethi briefed the people about the government’s infrastructural development and said that PM Modi has built the “modern elegant India” in less than a decade.
