JEWA declares election results for J&K, Ladakh

Srinagar, June 21: The election of the Judicial Employees Welfare Association (JEWA) for the UT of Jammu and Kashmir & Ladakh was held on June 20. 
The association in a statement issued here said, “The overwhelming response exhibited by the general membership of all the provinces of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh was worth watching as they ensured mass participation by canceling their holiday arrangements and coming en mass to exercise their right to vote.”
The election was conducted under the supervision of two respected Chief election commissioners – Mr. Bilal Ahmad Shah Retd (CAO) from Kashmir Division and Mr. Mangat Ram Parihar Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Principal District & Sessions Judge, Jammu from Jammu Division at District Court Complex, Moominabad, Batamaloo. 
Moreover, six “observers” had been also appointed for conducting elections from both provinces of Jammu and Kashmir, the statement said, adding that the appointees were Mr. Mirza Nazir Ali, Mr. Mohammad Akbar Mir, Mr. Mohammad Sultan, Mr. Mohammad Amin Mir, Mr. Ajaz Ahmad Wafai and Mr. Mohammad Ilyas Pandit. 
“The elections got culminated in a very cordial and congenial atmosphere. The participants deserve special thanks for ensuring mass participation and exhibition of patience,” the association said.
In the process, the following contestants were elected as office bearers for the respective posts shown against each to represent the Judicial Employees Welfare Association (JEWA) UT of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh: President Mr. Iftikhar Hussain Dar, General Secretary Mr. Sudershan Singh, Senior Vice President Mr. Ranjit Parihar, Vice President Mr. Ajaz Ahmad Dar, Organiser Mr. Zahoor Jan Mir, Publicity Secretary Mr. Anchal Rakwal, Coordinator Mr. Tariq Ahmad Malik (Unopposed), the statement said.
The JEWA thanked the District Administration Srinagar, the guest of honour Chief Administrative Officer Srinagar Mr. Molvi Muzaffar Hussain and Principal District & Sessions Judge, Srinagar Mr. Jawad Ahmad for their valuable support in conducting the elections. 
It also thanked both the provincial presidents of Jammu and Kashmir – Mr. Khursheed Ahmad Trali and Mr. Pooran Singh. “We would also like to thank election observers, committee members and especially District President Srinagar Mr. Khalid Shahnaz Mir who spared their valuable time and lent their support in making this election process a grand success,” the JEWA said.
