Srinagar, June 21: Iqra English Medium High School in the Srigufwara area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district has achieved 100 percent results in the JKBOSE 10th class annual regular examinations the results of which were declared on Monday.
All 28 students from the school qualified for the examinations. Among the students, Showkat Syed Gani, son of Muhammad Syed Gani, secured 494 marks out of 500. Thirteen students achieved distinction while eight scored above 400 marks.
Shafeeq-ul-Islam, the Principal, told Rising Kashmir that all students of the 10th class passed the exam with good marks, while one got 494 marks at the UT level.
He said that for the last three years, the students from the Iqra English Medium High School have topped the JKBOSE 10th and 8th-grade exams. Our students have achieved the first position in the last three years at the zonal level in the 8th class.
The Principal said that for uplifting education in the area, the school has reserved 25 percent of the seats for orphans and poor students. “They can acquire their basic education up to 10th standard from this school and can brighten their future,” he said.
He further said that for the 9th and 10th-grade students, the school also provides care counselling to them and an orientation programme for teachers in the school.
“Apart from academic education, we are also providing moral education to the students in the school. Two students from our school have memorised the Qur’an Shareef from this school. However, some of the students have memorised some paras of the holy book,” he said.
Shafeeq said the school is also going to provide a farewell party to the 10th-class students. “Our students have qualified for the NEET and KAS examinations. Most of the government officers from our area have also pursued their education at this school,” he added.
