Srinagar, Jan 08: Jammu & Kashmir National Conference Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq on Monday said that welfare and secularism are the touchstones of the party’s ideology and developmental framework.
He said this while inaugurating a free eye and dental check-up camp at Gurdwara Sahib Mehjoor Nagar, Srinagar.
Describing the free camp as a great initiative, he said it was an honour to be a part of such a meaningful cause. “I appreciate your effective efforts to organize a free dental and eye check-up camp. Your commitment to helping the poor and needy is truly commendable, which brings a positive change in the lives of those who are poor. All such efforts aimed at helping the poor and deserving should be appreciated.” He lauded the selfless efforts of Gurmat Taksal and President Malik Singh for the initiative.
Tanvir added, “We are a party of reform and competence. Our role in the socio-political and economic emancipation of JK remains unchallenged. The transformation brought about by NC in JK in the fields of health care, education, road connectivity, and public services has no parallels elsewhere in the world. We have remained pragmatic, practical and consistent in our views all through. It was our ground-breaking welfare schemes that have changed the face of J&K from despondency to dynamism, from poverty to opulence and from autocracy to democracy.”
Later, Sadiq inaugurated the new branch of The Original English Academy in Lalbazar. YNC Provincial President (Kmr) Salman Ali Sagar and other local unit party functionaries were present on this occasion. Both the leaders expressed good wishes to the administrators and the students present there and during their address explained the importance and usefulness of learning and teaching the English language in modern times.
