Ganderbal, Feb 08: In a bid to ensure safety standards and compliance with relevant specifications, authorities in Sub Division Kangan have implemented a complete ban on the use of bare Nichrome coils in the manufacturing, import, fabrication, sale, purchase, and usage of Crude Water Heaters and Crude Cooking Heaters. The ban, effective immediately, targets Nichrome-based electrical gadgets that fail to meet the stipulated standards set forth by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) or the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
According to an order is impressed upon the General Public of Sub Division Kangan involved in the production, import, fabrication, sale, purchase and use of Crude Water Heaters and Crude Cooking Heaters with the use of bare Nichrome coils that complete ban is imposed on these Nichrome based electrical gadgets (which do not conform to the relevant specifications of the BIS or IEC) with immediate effect.
It is imperative for all the parties involved to strictly adhere to this ban order. Any noncompliance to this ban order may result in legal action, including fines, penalties and potential suspension of manufacturing or distribution licenses, the order reads.
Meanwhile Manufacturers, distributors, and consumers are urged to cooperate fully with the ban and ensure compliance with established regulations to mitigate any potential risks associated with the use of non-conforming Nichrome coils in crude water and cooking heaters.
