In an ongoing effort to dismantle terror networks, the Jammu and Kashmir Police has taken significant steps by producing challan against two slain terrorists and a terrorist associate in the case registered under FIR number 97/2023 at the Police Station Pulwama. These legal proceedings have taken place in the designated NIA Court Pulwama.
According to a police spokesperson, the case has been initiated against a terrorist associate Ishfaq Ahmad Wani, son of Gh. Nabi and a resident of Chirat Arigam Pulwama. The charges against him are filed under section 4/5 of the Explosive Substance Act, as well as sections 18, 20, 23, and 39 of the UA (Prevention) Act. The terrorist associate was apprehended on May 7, 2023, and is currently under judicial remand until September 25, 2023, following the orders of the designated NIA Court Pulwama.
The police spokesperson further stated that charges have also been formally presented against the deceased terrorists, namely Jamsheed Ahmad Magray, the son of Ab. Hameed from Rajpora, and Hanan Bin Yaqoob, the son of Mohammad Yaqoob Bhat from Kareemabad. These charges have been levied under section 4/5 of the Explosive Substance Act, as well as sections 18, 20, and 38 of the UA (Prevention) Act.
The case against these two terrorists was initiated following an encounter with the Police and security forces that occurred in the village of Drach Shopian on October 5, 2022.
