Srinagar, July 18: Chairperson of the Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board and Minister of State, Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, visited the historic Eidgah in Srinagar today, where she held detailed interactions with youth delegations, representatives of local sports clubs, and residents of the area.A statement issued here said that during the visit, youth representatives raised concerns regarding the deteriorating condition of the playing field and appealed for its levelling and upkeep to facilitate regular sporting activities. Dr Andrabi held discussions with officials from the J&K Sports Council, who pledged their support towards improving the sports ground. Dr Andrabi assured the youth that their concerns would be addressed without delay. “Our developmental initiatives are rooted in on-ground realities. Public participation and local cooperation play a key role in the timely execution of infrastructural projects,” she stated during her interaction.Accompanied by the Engineering Team of the Waqf Board, the Chairperson conducted an on-site review of the area, which is set to be part of the Board’s future development plans. Prominent citizens and social activist Faheem Reshi also met with Dr Andrabi during the visit. The youth delegation included Baba Mudasir, Aijaz Shalla, Mohammad Ashraf, among others, who expressed gratitude for the prompt response and commitment shown by the Waqf Chairperson. Dr Andrabi’s visit underscores the Waqf Board’s renewed focus on inclusive development and the preservation of public spaces with active community involvement.
