Jammu, March 26: Talented batting all-rounder Chitra Singh Jamwal has been selected to represent Team A in the prestigious BCCI Senior Women’s Multi-Day Challenger Trophy, currently underway in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, from March 25.
Chitra previously represented India Team C in the Senior Women’s One-Day Challenger Trophy in January 2025. Her selection comes on the back of an impressive run with the bat, where she amassed 270 runs, including a stylish 65-run knock against a strong Madhya Pradesh side in the historic quarter-final, as well as a magnificent century against Goa in the Women’s U-23 One-Day Trophy. Initially not named in the 15-member squad, Chitra was later called up as a replacement for Madhya Pradesh’s young all-rounder Anaadi Tagde. With six centuries to her name in an illustrious career, she continues to make a mark in Indian women’s cricket. Arriving on March 24, Chitra was unavailable for selection in Team A’s opening match against Team B.
Team A Squad:
Minnu Mani (Captain), Richa Ghosh (WK), Shipra Giri, Shubha Satheesh, Shweta Sehrawat, Vrinda Dinesh, Mukta Magre, Henreitta Pereira, Tanuja Kanwar, Priya Mishra, Vasavi A Pavani, Anundhati Reddy, Sayali Sathgare, Chitra Singh Jamwal, Pragati Singh.
