Pulwama, July 10: With the support of the district administration and local residents, the migrant Kashmiri Pandit community gathered at the temple of the 18th-century mystic saint Brahmarishi Swami Guru MaharajJeewan Sahib in Ladhoo village, Pulwama, to observe VyasaPurnima after a gap of 35 years.Scores of devotees from across the country thronged the temple, where special puja rituals and a havan were conducted to mark the sacred occasion.Raj Kumar, a devotee originally from Ladhoo but now settled elsewhere in India, expressed his joy at returning to his ancestral village after decades. “It is a wonderful feeling to come back after 35 years,” he said, adding that Pandits from the village reunited to celebrate VyasaPurnima with devotion. He also praised the district administration and local community for their wholehearted support.The religious event was organized by the Swami Jeevan Sahib Baradari Religious Trust. Ravi JiBhat, general secretary of the Swami Jeewan Sahib MandirPrabandhak Trust, warmly welcomed the participants, especially those returning after years of migration, and thanked the district administration for their assistance.“This occasion highlights the spiritual significance of the Guru-ShishyaParampara and the eternal teachings of sage VedVyasa,” he said.The event marked a significant revival of this important pilgrimage and the continuation of ancient spiritual traditions after decades.
