Ganderbal, May 06: In a proactive effort to improve transparency and public service in the transport sector, Jammu and Kashmir Transport Commissioner Vishesh Paul Mahajan Tuesday conducted a surprise inspection of the ARTO Office in Ganderbal. He was accompanied by Regional Transport Officer Kashmir, Qazi Irfan.
The Commissioner reviewed office operations, interacted with staff, and assessed the quality of citizen services. He emphasised the need for professionalism, punctuality and a people-first approach across the department. During a public grievance session, Mahajan listened to local residents and assured them of timely redressal. “We are dedicated to delivering efficient and hassle-free services to every citizen,” he said.
He also visited the proposed sites for the new ARTO office building and the driving skill test track, directing officials to ensure high construction standards and timely completion. The upgraded infrastructure is expected to improve service delivery and testing capacity in the region. Later, Mahajan met SSP Ganderbal, Khalil Poswal to discuss road safety, traffic regulation and coordinated initiatives to reduce accidents and raise public awareness.
