Kishtwar, March 08: To mark the celebration of International Women Day, Krishi Vigyan Kendra Kishtwar SKUAST Jammu Saturday organised a programme at Kishtwar on health and nutrition of the women. More than 40 women attended the programme.
The programme was organized by Dr Narinder Paul Head KVK Kishtwar under the guidance of Dr Amrish Vaid Director Extension SKUAST Jammu which was intended to commemorate this year’s theme, “For ALL Women and Girls: Rights, Equality, Empowerment” with an emphasis on combating the malnutrition in women and adolescents” Komal Sharma while speaking on the occasion explained significance of the day and highlighted the contribution of women in home making, agriculture, services and every sector.
During the programme the women were trained about different nutri-mix recipes and their role in health and nutrition. Practical demonstration were held on nutrient enrichment of the cereals, pulses and millets. At the end of the programme, nutri-mix kits were distributed among the participating women for initiating the use of nutria-mix diet recipes at their respective households and ensuring household nutritional security. Komal Mehra, Anju balka, Mamta Kumari, Zubbaya Kousar, Nazia Banoo and 40 other women attended the programme.
