Ramban, Aug 26: The District Administration Ramban, under the leadership of District Election Officer (DEO) Baseer-Ul-Haq Choudhary, continues its efforts to enhance voter awareness ahead of the General Legislative Assembly Election 2024 by organizing a series of activities in Assembly Constituencies AC-54 Ramban and AC-55 Banihal.
These efforts are part of the ongoing Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign, which aims to educate voters about the importance of casting their votes. The District Nodal Officer for SVEEP, CEO Ramban Vikram Singh, emphasized the critical role of voter participation, particularly urging youth and women to exercise their right to vote.
A major SVEEP awareness program was held today at the Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Mahoo, a remote area in the 55-Banihal constituency. The event was organized by the District SVEEP team, including Assistant Nodal Officer Manjeet Singh, Abdul Hamid, Suraj Parkash, and technical team member Raj Singh.
Similar awareness programme was also organized at Government Higher Secondary School, Khari under SVEEP to sensitize the people about the importance of their votes.
Local residents, prominent citizens, female voters, and students participated in the event. The focus on the Mahoo area, known for its historically low voter turnout, makes today’s engagement a significant step towards increasing voter participation in the upcoming elections.
