Srinagar, Feb 09: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Kashmir unit commemorated the anniversary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee by hosting a series of events to honour his lasting legacy. Participants reflected on Vajpayee’s leadership, emphasising his remarkable ability to guide the nation through challenging times.
Ashok Koul, BJP General Secretary (Organization) for Jammu and Kashmir, highlighted Vajpayee’s profound connection with the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He further revealed that events celebrating Vajpayee would be organised throughout the year.
Senior leaders Ashraf Azad and Mushtaq Noorabadi shared personal recollections of their time with Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
During an address to party workers at S-1 Church Lane in Srinagar, senior leaders Mushtaq Noorabadi and Ashraf Azad spoke of Vajpayee’s widespread admiration, saying that even his political opponents held him in high esteem.
Ashok Koul reaffirmed that the leadership and contributions of Atal Bihari Vajpayee continue to inspire the nation, and the BJP is dedicated to promoting his ideals across Kashmir.
Future programmes will feature public outreach, social initiatives and heartfelt tributes to Vajpayee’s pivotal role in nation-building.
The BJP leadership also reiterated its commitment to expanding its presence in Kashmir and serving the welfare of the people by upholding the principles of good governance and development set forth by the former Prime Minister.
Senior leaders Altaf Thakur, Mudasir Wani, Sajid Yousuf Shah, Sheikh Bashir, Salinder Singh, Showkat Gayoor, Programme In-Charge Central Kashmir Khalid Baqaal, South Kashmir In-Charge Abid Husain Nangroo, North Kashmir In-Charge Fida Hussain and Programme Media Incharge Kashmir Showkat Shah were present on the occasion.
