JAMMU, JAN 14: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today reaffirmed his government’s commitment to ensuring that all benefits for Army veterans are delivered promptly and without delay.
The Chief Minister made this assurance during his address at the 9th Armed Forces Veterans’ Day celebration in Akhnoor, Jammu, where he paid tribute to the selfless contributions of the nation’s veterans.
“Our government remains steadfast in its efforts to address the needs of veterans, ensure their welfare, and strengthen the bond between servicemen and the administration,” Omar Abdullah said.
He emphasised, “Taking care of you is not a favour—it is our duty. Your immense contributions deserve our utmost respect, gratitude, and support. The Jammu and Kashmir government will continue to ensure that all benefits are provided through ex-servicemen welfare schemes without delay.”
The Chief Minister also urged veterans to voice any concerns or gaps in the system, assuring them that these issues would be promptly addressed. “If there are any challenges or weaknesses in our efforts, please bring them to our attention so that we can work together to resolve them. We are committed to serving you with the same dedication that you showed in serving the nation,” he added.
Addressing the gathering of ex-servicemen and their families at the 9th Armed Forces Veterans’ Day event held at the Tanda Artillery Brigade, Omar Abdullah expressed his heartfelt gratitude and emphasized the critical role of veterans in safeguarding the country’s freedom and peace.
He acknowledged the unparalleled commitment of veterans, stating, “You put the nation above everything else, setting aside your personal well-being and dreams for the greater good. While you protected our borders, you also gave us the priceless gift of peace. It is because of your service that we sleep soundly at night, knowing that our country is in safe hands.”
The Chief Minister concluded by assuring the veterans, “We will always stand by you. Your sacrifices will never be forgotten, and we pledge to support you in every possible way. You have done your duty to the nation with honour; now it is our turn to do ours.”
