Srinagar, Jan 12: In light of the rising menace of online gambling in Jammu and Kashmir, prominent shia cleric Aga Syed Hassan Mousvi Safvi has issued a fervent appeal to parents, teachers, and religious preachers to take immediate and effective measures to safeguard the younger generation from falling prey to this growing social evil.
Addressing the issue during a gathering in Budgam, Aga Syed Hassan expressed deep concern over the recent incidents of financial ruin caused by online gambling platforms like Teen Patti. He emphasized the devastating effects these activities have on the moral, psychological, and financial well-being of individuals, particularly the youth.
“It is heartbreaking to see families destroyed and futures jeopardized by this silent plague of online gambling. Parents must remain vigilant and monitor their children’s online activities. Teachers should inculcate the values of hard work and responsibility among students, while preachers should guide the youth toward spirituality and moral discipline,” Aga Syed Hassan stated.
He urged community leaders to launch awareness campaigns highlighting the dangers of online gambling and its destructive impact on individuals and society. “We must act collectively to create an environment where our youth are inspired to channel their energies into constructive pursuits rather than destructive habits,” he added. Aga Syed Hassan also called on the government to take decisive action against online gambling platforms, suggesting stricter regulations and technological safeguards to protect vulnerable users. He further encouraged parents to foster open communication with their children and promote recreational activities that strengthen family bonds.
Aga Syed Hassan Mousvi Safvi reiterated the importance of a united front in combating this social menace, emphasizing that the collective efforts of parents, educators, and religious scholars are vital in steering the younger generation toward a brighter and more secure future.
