A senior Defense official told Rising Kashmir that 2361 cadets including 917 girl cadets would participate in NCC Republic Day Camp-2025 including 114 cadets from J&K and Ladakh.
He said that CC Republic Day (RD) Camp-2025 commenced at the Cariappa Parade Ground, Delhi Cantt and this year 917 girl cadets will witness the largest number of girl cadets. A total of 2,361 cadets from all 28 States and 08 Union Territories of the Country are taking part in a month-long camp.
“The participation includes 114 cadets from Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh and 178 cadets from North East Region (NER) presenting a microcosm of “Mini India”. In addition, Cadets and Officers from 14 Friendly Foreign Countries (FFCs) will be also participating in the camp as a part of Youth Exchange Programme (YEP),” he said.
The official said that during the camp, the cadets will participate in a number of activities such as cultural and training competitions. The aim of the camp is to provide exposure to the rich culture and traditions of India, enhance personal traits of cadets and strengthen their value system.
“The camp will be visited by a large number of dignitaries including Vice-President, Defence Minister, Chief Minister of Delhi, Chief of Defence Staff, three Service Chiefs and Defence Secretary and other dignitaries,” he said.

Speaking on the Occasion, Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh, DGNCC welcomed the cadets by congratulating them on being selected for the most prestigious camp of the NCC. He urged cadets to display the highest qualities of Character, Integrity, Selfless Service, Comradeship and Teamwork cutting across the barriers of religion, language, caste in the spirit of Nation First.
This year the Defence Ministry cleared the deck for raising four new National Cadet Corps (NCC) battalions in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. The new units will be based out of Udhampur, Kupwara and Kargil.
Around 13,950 cadets would be inducted into the premier youth engagement program. This comes at a time when the central government is taking proactive and focused measures to engage and empower the youth.
