PSAJK organises school conference to address educational challenges

Srinagar, Nov 16: The Private Schools Association of Jammu and Kashmir (PSAJK) hosted a High-Level School Conference aimed at fostering collaboration, addressing challenges, and exploring new opportunities within the private education sector.
The event brought together key stakeholders, including Nasir Aslam Wani, Advisor to the J&K Chief Minister, who was the Chief Guest. Other prominent attendees included MLA Gulmarg Farooq Ahmad Shah, MLA Pattan Riyaz Bedar, Senior Counsel of the J&K High Court Advocate Zaffar Ahmad Shah, Former Director of SKIMS Dr. A.G. Ahangar, Former Vice Chancellor of IUST Dr. Mushtaq Siddiqi, Former Secretary Mohammad Rafi, and Senior Education Leaders Showkat Chowdhary, Er. Muhammad Shahid Dar, Prof. Irshad Ahmad Wani, Manzoor Ahmad Wangnoo, Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, Shabir Ahmad Mir, Mohammad Yousuf Kuchay, Showkat Ahmad Khan, Anayatullah Hajni, Faisal Islam Mir, Mohammad Syed, Majid Bhat, Bilal Bhat, Dr. Saddam, Mohammad Ashraf Baba, Ms Ishrat Tanki, MS Baseema, Nayeema, Marzia and other distinguished dignitaries.
PSAJK President Dr. G.N. Var delivered the keynote address, presenting a comprehensive overview of the pressing issues facing private schools in J&K and offering actionable solutions. His address emphasized the need for systemic reforms, innovative policies, and collaborative efforts to bolster the region’s education ecosystem.

Edu-ourism Potential: The conference explored Jammu and Kashmir’s potential to become an edu-tourism hub, leveraging its unique geographical and cultural identity. Proposals included:b Forming partnerships with national and international institutions., Enhancing local infrastructure to host academic and research programs., Attracting intellectual and teaching talent from across the globe.
Private schools are instrumental in generating over 72,000 jobs in the region. Stakeholders underscored the importance of fostering an environment that enhances employment opportunities.
CM’s Advisor Nasir Aslam Wani assured attendees of the government’s unwavering support in addressing the challenges faced by private schools. “We are committed to exploring every possible avenue to uplift the private education sector and ensure it thrives as a pillar of our state’s progress,” he stated.
Senior Counsel of J&K High Court, Advocate Zaffar Ahmad Shah said that “The private education sector in Jammu and Kashmir has been grappling with numerous challenges over the years. ”
Renowned environmentalist, Manzoor Wangnoo, also emphasized the importance of environmental conservation in education, stating that “The environment is the most important component of our daily lives, tourism including our schools. This is our life, and yet we continue to pollute our water bodies.”
MLA Gulmarg Farooq Ahmad Shah highlighted the success of past initiatives and emphasized the need for continuous efforts to organize educational conferences and exchange programs.
