Srinagar, Sept 11: Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen, Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) and the party’s candidate for the Khansahib Assembly constituency, has called for Arizal town to be granted Tehsil status, as recommended by the Ganai Commission report on administrative units.
He also demanded the construction of a mini power project on Nallah Sukhnag and a Kutiali bridge over the same nallah.
During a large public rally in Arizal, Yaseen said the area has been neglected. He outlined his vision for enhancing local infrastructure. He said constructing the Gulmarg-Ringzibal-Khag, Tossamaidan and Doodhpathri tourist circuits will be his top priorities.
The former minister said that Arizal, with its abundant natural beauty and tourism potential, requires full exploitation of these resources for socio-economic advancement. He assured the audience that he would spare no effort to bring development to Arizal and other backward areas, including Khag, Ringzibal, Shalli Kanin, and Shukhnag, to match the facilities available in more developed urban areas.
Hakeem urged people to support him by casting their votes for PDF. He asked voters to select the “Pressure Cooker” symbol on the electronic voting machine (EVM) – which was allotted to PDF by the Election Commission of India (ECI) – on polling day, September 25.
