Jammu, Sept 11: In the final phase of the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections, four candidates from Shiv Sena (UBT) submitted their nominations on Wednesday and promised to address the public’s needs and rectify past grievances.
Accompanied by party state chief Manish Sahni, hundreds of supporters and traditional drumbeats, the candidates who filed their nominations are Meenakshi Chhibber from Jammu West, Sahil Gandotra from Udhampur East, Sanjeev Kumar from Udhampur West and Raj Singh from Ramnagar (Udhampur), the party said in a statement issued here.
Sahni said voters have a chance to “hold accountable those who have undermined Jammu & Kashmir’s identity, divided the region, revoked its state status, infringed on local rights, and failed to address pressing issues such as drug abuse, resource mismanagement and corruption”.
He urged voters to teach a lesson to those responsible for these issues and promised that every Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate is committed to restoring the rights of the people and meeting their aspirations.
The nomination event was attended by General Secretary Vikas Bakshi, Vice President Sanjeev Kohli, Balwant Singh, Kamgar Wing President Raj Singh, Secretary Rajesh Jandial, Vishal Verma, Jatinder Arora, and numerous other party leaders and workers.
