Jammu, Aug 17: Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) on Saturday paid rich tributes to its founder, Prof Bhim Singh, on his birth anniversary at the party’s office in Jammu. The occasion was celebrated as Haq Insaf Divas, with party workers, well-wishers, and relatives of the late leader gathering to pay their respects to his legacy.
Prof Bhim Singh, a renowned politician and secular leader, was remembered for his unwavering commitment to fighting for the rights of the marginalized and oppressed, the party said in a statement. His son, Vilakshan Singh, who is currently the party’s president, eulogised his father’s “unshakeable resolve in the face of adversity”. “My father was a politician par excellence,” he said. “He never compromised on his principles, no matter how difficult the situation.”
Vilakshan Singh highlighted his father’s struggles against various forms of discrimination, including the draconian Resettlement Act and the bill that deprived women of their state subject status after marriage. He highlighted Prof Bhim Singh’s unwavering commitment to preserving the Dogra identity and his relentless fight against injustice meted out to any individual, regardless of their religion, caste or creed.
The party leaders and workers urged the public to strengthen the JKNPP so that Prof Bhim Singh’s unfulfilled dreams could be realised and justice could be provided to all sections of society without discrimination. They appealed to voters to support the party’s candidates in the upcoming elections to ensure that the grievances of the public are addressed effectively and injustice is undone.
The event was attended by several party leaders, including Naresh Chib, Rajesh Gondhi, Balwan Singh, Ravinder Jamwal, Rakesh Gupta, Sanjeev Verma, Navin Bali, and Vikas Kotwal.
