Jammu, Jan 18: Union Minister of State, Dr Jitendra Singh on Thursday highlighted the positive impact of the “Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra” (VBSY) on both the work culture and aspirations of the common citizen.
Speaking after a virtual interaction with beneficiaries of VBSY, he said that the yatra has played a pivotal role in changing the attitude and behaviour of the people.
Dr Jitendra emphasized that government servants are now providing services directly to citizens’ doorsteps, a significant departure from the previous norm where individuals had to make repeated visits to government departments without their work getting resolved.
“Earlier people had to make rounds of government departments to get their work done. Despite visiting these departments, their work continued to remain pending. As a result, they would feel dejected and resigned to their fate. All that has now changed for good, he said, adding that this transformation, brought about by VBSY, has alleviated the frustration of citizens who, in the past, felt dejected and resigned to their fate.
The Union Minister highlighted the spurt in people’s aspirations, with dreams being realized through government initiatives. He cited examples such as the construction of concrete houses under the PM Awas Yojana for the poor and underprivileged. Dr Singh pointed out that district officials are proactively reaching out to citizens, urging them to avail themselves of government services, thereby being accountable to the Modi-led government.
Dr Jitendra Singh commended the positive impacts of initiatives like the PM Ujjwala Yojana, which has empowered women, improved their health, and provided cleaner cooking solutions. Additionally, he noted the transformative effects of the Swachh Bharat Mission in rural areas, altering the landscape with the construction of toilets for public use.
Asserting that development is the government’s primary focus, Dr Singh highlighted Prime Minister Modi’s dedication to serving the nation and the government’s commitment to the welfare of all citizens. He emphasized that the government’s sense of service is not driven by vote bank politics but is rooted in love and commitment to the nation.
