Srinagar, Feb 29: Prominent politician Zaffer Mir (Lasjan) on Thursday visited Magraypora and Noubugh villages in Chadoora, Budgam, as part of his extensive outreach to connect with party workers and the local populace.
Mir emphasized the importance of this engagement, stating that the Chadoora Assembly constituency has suffered immensely due to the “unethical politics” practised by the NC and PDP-BJP alliance in the past.
“It is unfortunate to see the people of this constituency suffering despite tall claims by previous regimes,” Mir said while addressing the workers. “There is no space for emotional politics hereafter, and I fervently call on the youth to volunteer and politically fight the rhetoric of NC and other parties who do not care for their well-being. Their sole purpose is to hold the reins of power once again and leave the people to the mercy of the heavens,” he added.
Mir cautioned people that their vote was the only power through which they had to shape the fate of society and the region.
Commenting on inflation, he also urged the LG administration to intervene and control the rising prices of essential commodities impacting the common people, especially the underprivileged sections of society who are facing economic challenges.
Zaffer urged the Budgam district agriculture department to conduct village-level workshops to raise awareness about the Centrally sponsored schemes among farmers.
“The farmers should capitalize on central schemes for horticulture and agriculture, and it remains a pivotal duty of the concerned department to guide them to earn a dignified livelihood while benefitting from Central Sponsored Schemes,” he demanded.
In his address, Zaffer Mir also exchanged ideas about a prospective roadmap for the upcoming elections while reiterating that power rests with the common people to choose their destiny.
“It’s time to move beyond emotional politics and empower ourselves and future generations to shape a prospective future that has opportunities and accountability,” he stressed.
