Ramban, June 22:Vice Chancellor,Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agriculture Sciences & Technology (SKUAST),Jammu, Prof.BN Tripathi inaugurated a five-day training on Marketing and Business Opportunities for Horticulture Crops under the supervision of Area Marketing Officer, Ramban, Sunil Bakshiin Fruit and Vegetable Mandi, Batote on Saturday.
Sponsored by National Institute of Agricultural Marketing (NIAM),Jaipur it is being organised by SKUAST, Jammu under a Centrally Sponsored Scheme in collaboration with the Department of Horticulture Planning & Marketing.
On the occasion after inspection of stalls set up by the local entrepreneurs, Cooperatives and FPOs Prof. Tripathi, Prof, Amrish Vaid, Director, Extension, SKUAST(J), Prof. Sudhakar Dwivedi, Dean Student Welfare SKUAST(J), Prof, Vikas Tandon, Dean Faculty, Horticulture & Forestry, SKUAST(J), Prof Anil Bhat,Director, Research,SKUAST(J),ProfHema Tripathi, Associate Director, Extension, SKUAST(J), Dr Raj Kumar, Head, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ramban educated and motivated thirty trainees hailing from Banihal, Ramban, Batote and Gandhri blocks.
ProfHema Tripathi also gave a training to the trainees with the help of Power Point Presentation.
Earlier, in the morning, VC,SKUAST(J), Prof. Tripathi inaugurated the first Rural Business Service Hub (RBSH) Om Shakti Agri Trading Company under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme at Thopal in Batote. There the local farmers would get feed, seeds, agricultural implements, packing material on subsidised rates, all agricultural inputs and trading support at one place. He informed that this is the first functional RBSH of Jammu province.
