Ganderbal, Aug 31: In a noble initiative aimed at providing healthcare assistance to the underprivileged, the 49th Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) orchestrated a day-long free medical camp at Badampora, Ganderbal on Thursday. The event proved to be a resounding success, benefiting 340 patients hailing from Badampora and the neighboring villages.

The 49 Bn CRPF medical teams, comprised of five dedicated members, including two doctors, a pharmacist, and two nursing assistants, worked tirelessly to conduct thorough examinations of individuals from all age groups – men, women, and children. Patients were not only examined but were also provided with essential medicines at no cost, ensuring their immediate medical needs were met.

On the auspicious occasion of Rakshabandhan, a heartwarming gesture transpired as school girls and sisters tied rakhi threads, symbolizing protection, on the wrists of the CRPF jawans. The jawans, in turn, received these tokens of goodwill and were bestowed with prayers for their health and safety.

Amid the event, Jaidev Kesri, DIG CRPF North, extended his support to the youth present by presenting a cricket bat and ball, encouraging their sporting spirits and fostering a sense of camaraderie between the CRPF personnel and the local community.

The success of the ongoing Amarnath Yatra 2023 in maintaining a peaceful and secure environment was attributed to the kind support and contributions of the Kashmiri people. The CRPF’s efforts in organizing the free medical camp further highlight the organization’s commitment to the welfare and well-being of the local populace.

This marks the second instance of the 49 Bn CRPF organizing a free medical camp in the Ganderbal district, exemplifying their dedication to public service. The camp was inaugurated under the esteemed presence of Jaidev Kesri, DIG North CRPF, who praised the meticulous organization of the event by Raj Kumar Nigam, CO 49 Bn, and his team of officers and personnel.
