18-month-old child killed by masked individuals

Budgam, Sept 10: In a deeply tragic and unsettling event, an 18-month-old child was fatally attacked by two masked individuals in his residence during the night between Monday and Tuesday in the Kachwari area of the Khansahib tehsil at Central Kashmirs Budgam district
According to local residents, three masked men entered the home in the Kachwari area during the early hours of Tuesday. The child, aged 18 months, was killed by these unidentified assailants.
“This incident occurred around 2:00 AM, while everyone was asleep in their homes. We heard a loud commotion, and people quickly gathered at the scene, where the lifeless body of the 18-month-old was discovered,” locals said.
A police official from the Police Station Khansahib told Rising Kashmir that they received a call regarding the incident at 2:30 PM. The police team promptly arrived at the location.
“The masked intruders entered the residence in the Kachwari area and murdered Zeeshan Ahmad Kalas, the son of Bilal Ahmad Kalas, using an axe,” he said.
Official said that the child was sleeping with his mother in another room at the time of the incident.
“The postmortem examination was conducted at the Sub District Hospital, and the body was subsequently returned to the family following the procedure,” the official added.
In connection with this case, An FIR number 154/2024 under Section 103 BNS has been filed at the Khansahib Police Station, and an investigation is currently underway.
