Baramulla, Aug 07: The Tehsil Social Welfare office in Dangiwachi area of Sopore was sealed by authorities on Monday following a surprise visit by ADC Sopore Shabir Ahmad Raina.
An official said that during the surprise inspection, at least three employees were found to be absent from duty, prompting immediate action. He said the absent employees have been asked to provide an explanation for their absence.
“As a consequence of their unexplained absence, they have been temporarily attached to the office of Tehsildar Dangiwacha,” the official said.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sopore Shabir Ahmad Raina said that numerous complaints were received from elderly and women regarding the absence of officials at the Tehsil Social Welfare office in Dangiwacha.
“The absence of officials was causing significant problems for the residents in the area and a surprise visit was conducted thereafter,” he said.
ADC Sopore said that following complaints, a surprise inspection was conducted and three employees were found absent from their duties and an investigation was set into motion. “We have appointed Tehsildar Dangiwacha as the inquiry officer to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter,” he added.
Tehsildar Dangiwacha is expected to submit his comprehensive report within two days, shedding light on the reasons behind the absences and any potential administrative issues within the office.
