Army conducts lecture on water conservation for locals

Akhnoor, April 1: Indian Army in collaboration with Jal Jeevan Mission, Akhnoor, conducted a lecture-cum-demonstration for the locals of Batera Panchayat in which hundreds of people participated.
“The main aim of the event was to emphasize the significance of rejuvenating water resources and conserving water for our future, by using means like rain water harvesting and disciplined consumption of water,” an Army official said. He said the importance of water and likely future challenges caused by water wastage was harped upon the impressionable minds, to leave a long-lasting impact and instill a sense of responsibility.
The experts delivered a lecture and demonstrated the necessity of water conservation and methods for implementation of rainwater harvesting along with replenishment of the water table.
“The event benefitted hundreds of villagers. The Panchayat authorities lauded the efforts of the Indian Army towards nation-building,” he said.
