Srinagar, Aug 25: Prominent politician Zaffer Mir (Lasjan) on Friday expressed profound satisfaction over the launch of a number of prestigious projects in Budgam district by the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha.
Addressing the media, Mir underscored that the district which had endured over two decades of developmental stagnation was now invigorated by the proactive efforts of the present government.
He emphasized that this initiative had reignited the aspirations of Budgam’s residents, who had long suffered from neglect and a significant infrastructural gap which he described as “A consequence primarily being the result of self-serving agenda of regional parties of J&K.”
Elated by the announcement made by Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha, Mir conveyed that a wave of jubilation swept through the populace.
“The people of Budgam have been eagerly awaiting infrastructural upgrades for years, but their concerns were repeatedly ignored by the previous administrations whom they entrusted with their votes,” he remarked.
Mir went on to explain that the commencement of work on fifteen designated projects was a vital step towards bringing Budgam district in line with other regions within the Kashmir valley.
He also pointed out the district’s substantial potential in terms of tourism and trade, particularly due to its strategic location in close proximity to the summer capital.
“This marks just the beginning of a transformative journey. Much more remains to be accomplished to genuinely enhance the prosperity and well-being of the local population in Budgam. The people are now again filled with hope & I once again extend my gratitude to the Lt. Governor of J&K for realising the genuine demands of the people of this erstwhile neglected district,” he said.
