Youth stabbed by two juveniles in Rajbagh; arrest made

Srinagar, July 5: A disturbing incident unfolded in Rajbagh, Srinagar, as a youth identified as Haseeb Bhat from Sonwar was viciously assaulted and wounded by two 17-year-old juveniles on Wednesday evening. The attackers brandished a knife during the assault, causing a severe arm injury to the victim.
Prompt action was taken after news of the attack emerged, with the injured youth swiftly transported to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment. Fortunately, his condition has been reported as stable.
Srinagar police took to Twitter, stating, “Haseeb Bhat of Sonwar was stabbed with a knife by two 17-year-old juveniles (names withheld), one from Sonwar and the other from Rajbagh. FIR No 22/2023 has been registered under sections 341 (wrongful restraint), 323 (voluntarily causing harm), 307 (attempt to murder), and 34 (common intention) of IPC at Kothibagh Police Station. The accused have been apprehended, and the weapon used in the crime has been recovered. The victim has sustained an arm injury and is currently in stable condition.”
The motive behind the attack remains undisclosed at present, as the police have stated that the case is under active investigation. The incident has raised concerns within the local community, and authorities are expected to conduct a thorough probe to determine the underlying reasons behind this violent act.
