Jammu, Jan 31: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha interacted with the NCC cadets who returned after attending the Republic Day Camp in New Delhi. The cadets shared their experiences from the camp.
The Lieutenant Governor commended the cadets and NCC officers for their excellent performance on Kartavya Path and in various other competitions. He also congratulated SUO Ekta Kumari for making J&K proud by leading the All India NCC Girls Contingent.
He noted that the historic participation in the Republic Day celebrations and the numerous prestigious awards and accolades received have reinforced the NCC’s pivotal role in shaping future leaders of the nation.
“NCC cadets have always demonstrated exceptional skills, discipline, and dedication,” said the Lieutenant Governor. “I applaud the enthusiasm and energy of our young cadets, who are working to develop society, address challenges, and offer innovative solutions through selfless service.”
The Lieutenant Governor added, “Youth are the future—they hold the promise for a brighter tomorrow for J&K. They have a responsibility to carry forward the values of our ancient civilization and help build a stronger J&K UT. The spirit of the NCC will drive them to promote peace, progress, and constructive social change.”
He further urged the NCC cadets to focus on five key resolutions: rapid development of Jammu and Kashmir, improving citizens’ quality of life, creating social units dedicated to nation-building, inspiring social change through NCC values, and ensuring the participation of all sections of society in national development.
The Lieutenant Governor felicitated the cadets with Certificates of Excellence for their significant contributions to the success of the contingent.
To mark the occasion, Maj Gen A. Bevli, VSM, Additional Director General of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh Directorate, presented a memento to the Lieutenant Governor as a token of gratitude for his continuous support of NCC initiatives.
The vibrant cultural performances by the NCC cadets, symbolizing India’s unity in diversity, received special praise from the Lieutenant Governor.
A total of 127 cadets from the Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh NCC Directorate participated in this year’s Republic Day celebrations. Seventeen cadets were selected to march on Kartavya Path, and five were selected for the Guard of Honour.
SUO Ekta Kumari led the All India NCC Girls Contingent during the Republic Day Parade 2025 on Kartavya Path, earning praise from the President of India and the DG NCC Commendation Card.
JUO Abida Afreen, recognized for her outstanding performance, was honored with the Raksha Mantri Commendation Card. She has also been selected to scale Mt. Everest later this year, serving as a role model for aspiring youth. SUO Ekta, Cadet Alankrita Sharma, ANO Dr. Lt Nitika Kundan, and Second Officer Ashaq Hussain were awarded DG NCC Commendation Cards for their exceptional contributions during the camp.
The Contingent Commander, Col Amit Bhardwaj, and Nb Sub Yashbir Singh were honoured with the DG NCC Medallion, alongside eight other cadets who received the prestigious award for their outstanding performance.
Senior officers and instructors of the J&K and Ladakh NCC Directorate, along with officials from the School Education Department and Raj Bhawan, were also present at the event.
