Srinagar, Nov 11: Students and unemployed educated youth have expressed their appreciation for the government’s decision to implement age relaxation for candidates participating in the combined competitive exams in Jammu and Kashmir.
Zahid Ahmad, a PhD holder from Baramulla district told Rising Kashmir that he is preparing for the upcoming combined competitive exams. At 33 years of age, he feels optimistic following the Jammu and Kashmir government’s adjustment of the upper age limit for various categories. This change has instilled hope in candidates who previously exceeded the age restrictions set by earlier regulations.
“There are many well-educated unemployed youths in Jammu and Kashmir who now have the opportunity to participate in competitive exams due to the government’s revision of the age criteria,” he remarked.
Ahmad further said that the public is pleased with this governmental decision, as the new age criteria will provide significant relief and enable college and university students to engage in these combined competitive exams.
Bushra Habib, another aspirant from Budgam district, commended the Jammu and Kashmir government for making a favorable decision for those seeking to alter the age criteria for the combined competitive exams.
“The educated youth of Jammu and Kashmir now have the chance to prepare for these exams, which they were previously ineligible due to age restrictions. This is a golden opportunity for those aspiring to excel in the government sector through these exams,” she said.
On Saturday, the Jammu and Kashmir government announced an increase in the upper age limit to 35 years for open merit candidates taking the combined competitive exams in the Union Territory, up from the previous limit of 30 years.
