Srinagar, Dec 28: J&K Yateem Foundation (JKYF) distributed education scholarship amounting to Rs 66 thousand among 11 students including 6 girls. These students belonged to different parts of District Kupwara
Renowned veterinarian, author and social activist Dr Marouf Shah called upon the gathering to mobilize latent human capabilities, talent and capacities for the welfare, ease of living and rehabilitation of most deserving and economically weaker sections of the society.
Praising JKYF’s initiative to work irrespective of caste, color, creed, region and religion, Dr Marouf enjoined upon all voluntary and non-governmental organizations to ensure honesty, transparency and accountability in the working of organizational working.
Earlier, senior volunteer Pir Javaid Iqbal presented detailed account of various welfare and rehabilitation programmes of JKYF
The parents of the students and scores of poets and JKYF volunteers, cross section of people participated in the function. Mohammad Ishaq Shiekh, Secretary Finance JKYF also graced the occasion.
