Jammu, Feb 14: As many as 250 specially-abled children from Jammu and Kashmir embarked on a memorable journey under the ‘Watan Ko Jano’ program, exploring the vibrant cultures of Delhi and Agra. This initiative, organized by the Social Welfare Department in collaboration with the Ministry of Home Affairs, aims to expose young minds to the diverse tapestry of India.
Driven by the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and guided by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the program fosters development and progress for J&K’s youth. 62 girls and 188 boys, aged 6-18, participated in this enriching experience, visiting iconic landmarks and interacting with senior officials, including Union Home Secretary Shri Ajay Kumar Bhalla.
“Watan Ko Jano” specifically targets children from terrorism-affected families and weaker sections, identified by the Jammu and Kashmir Rehabilitation Council. These exposure trips aim to instill a sense of belonging and national identity, while broadening horizons and fostering understanding.
This heartwarming program serves as a beacon of hope, bridging gaps and nurturing the future of J&K’s youth.
