Volleyball Association Kathua body elected

Kathua, June 25: The election of the Volleyball Association of J&K district unit Kathua for 2023–2027 years was held in presence of Attar Singh (Returning Officer) at Bhagwan Shri Parshuram Ji Dham, Gurah Mandian, Hiranagar, here on Sunday.
Voting for electing district-body office bearers was held under the supervision of observers from the Volleyball Association of J&K- Kuldeep Magotra Chief Executive Officer, H.S Gill Executive Vice President,  and Ramesh Sharma Treasurer.
In the elections, Kamal Sharma was elected as President while Mohinder Kumar Sharma  was elected as Secretary.  Rajesh Goswamy has been elected as Vice President, Ram Lal as Joint Secretary and Keshav Sharma as Treasurer.
The Executive Members include Madal Lal Toofan, Attar Singh, Surat Singh, Madan Lal, Rakesh Choudhary, Pitambhar, Deepak Sharma, Rajnikant Sharma, Uttam Singh, Shashi Khajuria, Yash Paul and Pardeep Sharma.  Besides, Presidents of all volleyball affiliated Clubs will be executive members.  Meanwhile all the office bearers in one voice nominated former district president Madal Lal Toofan as Patron-in-Chief of the District Kathua Association.
Earlier, Annual General Meeting (AGM) of District Volleyball Association Kathua was held under the chairmanship of Madan Lal Toofan, President of Kathua Distt Volleyball Association in which various decisions were taken for improvement of volleyball game in Kathua Distt  so that hidden talent of youth could be explored fully  for J&K UT/National/ International competitions. 
The office bearers of Distt Volleyball Association hailed the head and heart qualities of outgoing President Madan Lal Toofan and his team for scaling new heights of volleyball game during their tenure’s selfless service to the Association.
The meeting adjourned for 15 minutes for  waving the way for election on a new team of office bearers for next 4 years term from 2023–2027  with nomination of Sh Attar Singh as returning officer.
In the election process, 21 volleyball clubs registered with the Kathua District Volleyball Association participated. Besides election of new team of office bearers, various committees were constituted for giving overall boost  to volleyball game in Kathua district.
“The election process which started from today will continue till the elections of all the District Volleyball Association affiliated with Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir complete,” CEO VAJK, Kuldeep Magotra said, adding that the election of District Samba Association will be held tomorrow.
He added the entire election process was started on the instruction of Patron-in-Chief VAJK, Raj Daluja and President Sidharth Daluja as per the Constitution of Volleyball Association of J&K and guidelines of Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council.
Meanwhile, Patron-in-Chief VAJK, Raj Daluja and President Sidharth Daluja also sent congratulation messages to the office bearers of District Kathua Association and expressed hope that under their guidance volleyball game will be promoted in the district in future.
