To foster transparency and empower the citizens, the District Administration  Anantnag,  under the  chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, SF. Hamid today hosted an interactive session as part of Vigilance Awareness Week under the theme  ‘Say No to Corruption, Commit to the Nation’  at Town Hall Anantnag.

The DC on the occasion threw light on the ill effects of the corruption on overall development in the region.

He emphasized the pivotal role that transparency and empowered citizenship can play in the fight against corruption. He reminded everyone present that transparency is not the sole responsibility of the government; it is a shared duty of every citizen.

Emphasizing the significance of open dialogue, the DC called on participants to actively engage and collaborate in the collective mission of achieving a corruption-free society.

DC also highlighted the transformative potential of digital services, stressing that these not only enhance transparency but also empower citizens by offering efficient, time-bound solutions to their needs, ultimately contributing to a responsive administration.

He also provided a comprehensive overview of the grievance redressal mechanisms of the Government, highlighting their effectiveness in addressing public complaints. This initiative aims to promote transparency, accountability, and citizen trust, fostering a culture of responsive governance and efficient complaint resolution.

The DC said that the District Administration is always ready to offer a platform for open, honest discussions and acted as an inspiration for individuals to assume an active role in promoting transparency and accountability within their communities.

He also said that the success of the potential for positive change is when citizens, auditors, business leaders, and RTI activists collaborate in the pursuit of a corruption-free society.

The event was attended by SSP, CEO MC Anantnag, ACR, ACD, BDOs,Tehsildars, SDM’s, XEN’s  and various district officers.
