Kangan, Oct 10: In a remarkable act of bravery, a local resident from the Bonibagh area of Kangan in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district successfully rescued a venomous snake from a household kitchen, averting potential danger.
The sighting of the snake caused immediate panic among the household members, according to locals. Witnesses told Rising Kashmir that the unexpected appearance of the snake left the family in distress, prompting a swift response from a local hero.
Jaffer Majeed, a resident of the locality, quickly came to the rescue after hearing the frightened screams of the household. “I heard screaming in the neighborhood after they spotted the snake in their kitchen. I rushed there and managed to capture it,” Jaffer Majeed recounted.
His swift action brought immense relief to the household and the surrounding community, as he safely removed the snake from the premises.
This is not the first time Jaffer has demonstrated his commitment to wildlife protection. In 2018, he rescued a female fawn of the endangered Hangul deer, along with several birds and reptiles over the years. His efforts have made him a well-known figure in the region, admired for his dedication to safeguarding both people and wildlife.
