Rajouri, Jan 26: Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) celebrated the 76th Republic Day with enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. The celebrations were held at the scenic lawns of the Vice Chancellor’s Secretariat. Registrar of the University, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza JKAS unfurled the National Flag.
The event began with the ceremonial flag hoisting, followed by the singing of the National Anthem evoking a sense of pride and nationalism among attendees.
In his message to the University community, Vice Chancellor Prof Jawaid Iqbal conveyed his heartfelt greetings on the occasion of Republic Day. He emphasised the importance of upholding the values enshrined in the Indian Constitution and called upon everyone to work collectively for the betterment of the nation.
Prof Jawaid Iqbal said, “Republic Day reminds us of the sacrifices made by our forefathers and the responsibilities we shoulder as citizens of this great nation”.
Addressing the gathering, the Registrar highlighted the importance of the Constitution and its role in shaping modern India. He emphasised the significance of the day as a reminder of the sacrifices made by countless individuals to secure freedom and democracy for the nation. Registrar also underscored the University’s commitment to nation-building through education, research, and innovation.
Faculty members, officers and officials of the university were present at the occasion.
