Jammu, June 05: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference provincial president Rattan Lal Gupta on Monday promised that the party will focus on delivering corruption-free services to the people if they win the upcoming Urban Local Bodies (ULB) elections in the Jammu region.
The senior NC leader while addressing a meeting said. “The National Conference, if given the opportunity to serve, would make sure to provide the best possible civic services to the people of Jammu with a focus on waste management. The party also aims to promote the (Jammu) Municipal Corporation to the world level. All services provided by the National Conference will be tax-free and the property tax imposed will be rolled back.”
This will encourage more people to engage with their local government and create a stronger community and better sense of civic pride, Gupta said, according to a party statement issued here.
He called on the people of Jammu City to support the National Conference in the upcoming ULB elections, saying the party will deliver “best services and true transparency” to the people.
“The National Conference’s goal is to make Jammu a true model for the rest of the country to follow. The party believes that with their vision, strong leadership, and commitment to the principles of democracy, it can create a brighter future for the people of Jammu,” he added.
Babu Rampaul, former minister and Central Zone President, said, “The National Conference is known for its long-standing commitment to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The party has a strong presence in the region and has played a key role in shaping the political landscape of the state. It has always been a proponent of democracy, social justice, and economic development.”
Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, provincial secretary Jammu, said the upcoming ULB elections are essential for the people of Jammu as it is a crucial stepping stone towards “true democracy and accountability”. He asked people to support NC “to get better services” in the office of ULBs in Jammu City.
