Jammu, Aug 07: The Directorate of Agriculture Production and Farmers Welfare, Jammu, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Government of India, inaugurated a two-day training programme on the Digital Crop Survey (DCS) Mobile App at SKUAST-Jammu.According to a statement issued here, over 140 officials, including Assistant Commissioners (Revenue), Tehsildars and Agriculture officers participated. The DCS App allows field officials to collect real-time crop data linked to land records and geospatial mapping. It supports policy planning, crop insurance and input distribution.Day two will feature a field demonstration at Kharbuza village, Jammu West.Sandeep Kumar highlighted the app’s role in modernising agriculture and enabling integrated land-use planning. He urged participants to utilise the training fully.Director Agriculture Jammu called it a digital leap, commending the collaboration between departments and field officials.
