Srinagar, Sep 09: In an effort to promote the beauty of Bangus valley in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district, the Tourism Department of Kashmir is all set to organize the inaugural Mega Bangus Mela on September 10.
The event has generated significant excitement in the district, as it will be graced by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.
An official from the Tourism Department confirmed that all preparations for this grand event have been meticulously finalized.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will be the Chief Guest, with Secretary of Tourism, J&K, Syed Abid Rashid, and other top officials also in attendance.
Local residents expressed high hopes that this event will be a game-changer for the district.
They applauded the administration’s commitment to promoting Bangus as a must-visit destination, especially with a focus on border tourism.
Danish Gulzar, a local from Mawer, Handwara, emphasized on the untapped tourism potential of Bangus. He welcomed the administration’s efforts to promote the region and urged them to continue this momentum. He highlighted the need for organizing similar events in the future to establish Bangus as the “Mirror of Heaven on Earth.”
Notably, this grand event marks a significant milestone as it is the first of its kind organized by the Tourism Department. Previously, smaller events were organized by the local army unit.
The Mega Bangus Mela promises to showcase the natural splendor of Bangus, furthering its potential as a sought-after tourist destination. The event is expected to leave a lasting impact on the district’s tourism landscape, attracting travellers from far and wide.
