Jammu, Mar 10: The Department of Tourism is working on a multi-faceted approach to develop the tourist destinations in Jammu City to attract a greater number of tourists. Govt has executed several projects under State Capex Budget and Swadesh Darshan Scheme.
This was informed in the Assembly on Monday by the government in response to a question by BJP MLA, Yudhvir Sethi.
Major infrastructure assets created under different schemes at various tourist locations are namely, construction of musical water fountains with sound and light show at Bagh-e-Bahu, development of tourist facilities at Bhagwati Nagar, development of tourist facilities at Sidhra Golf Course and construction of amusement park near Sidhra Golf Course, Ropeway Project from Mahamaya to Bagh-e-Bahu, and Jambu Zoo at Nagrota.
The government said that 2 projects under Mubarak Mandi development have been completed, while work on 07 projects is under execution.
To enhance the appeal of Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex and attract more tourists and locals, a project namely installation of vertical lift from Peerkho to Mubarak Mandi complex costing Rs 27.00 cr has been approved for execution in Jammu City.
