Three gamblers held in Handwara, stake money seized: Police

Acting tough against social crimes, Police have arrested 03 gamblers in Handwara and seized stake money from their possession.

A Police spokesperson said that a police party of Police Post Chogul while on patrolling near Gund Chogul apprehended 03 gamblers. The have been identified as Javid Ahmad Khan son of Gh Mohammad resident of Galoora, Gh Nabi Malik son of Gh Mohidin and Mudasir Ahmad Dar son of Abdul Subhan, both residents of Gund Chogul. Police have seized stake money of ₹4810/- and playing cards from the gamblers. They have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody.

“Accordingly, a case FIR No. 120/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Handwara and investigation has been taken up”, he said.

People found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
