Srinagar, Oct 04: The Director of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has issued a final show cause notice against a government teacher for unauthorised absence from duties.
The show cause notice was issued to Veenakshi Devi, a teacher at BHSS Khonmoh District Srinagar, after it was found that she was absent without authorisation since November 7, 2016.
The notice states that despite numerous opportunities provided, including a joint show cause notice issued on July 6, 2021, the teacher neither presented herself before the authorities nor resumed her duties.
According to the notice, continuous unauthorised absence from duties for more than five years invokes Article 113 of J&K Civil Services Rules (Volume I) of 1956, which deems an officer out of state employment after such a period.
The notice further reads, “Before proposed action, as warranted under Article 113 of J&K CSR Vol-I of 1956, is initiated against you, you are given a last opportunity to submit your statement of defense regarding your unauthorized absence from legitimate duties starting November 21, 2016.”
“This statement must reach this Directorate within seven days from the date of issuance of this notice. Failure to comply will be construed as having nothing to say in your defense, and actions as per the rules will be initiated against you,” the notice reads.
