Srinagar, Jul 31: The World Crafts Council International (WCC) on Wednesday officially designated Srinagar as a ‘World Craft City’ during a ceremony here.
The prestigious recognition was celebrated at a grand ceremony held at SKICC Srinagar, where Saad Al Qaddumi, President of the WCC delivered a speech and highlighted the importance of this achievement.
“I am honoured and proud to extend my heartfelt congratulations to the government officials and the citizens of Srinagar on acquiring the World Crafts Council’s designation as a World Craft City,” said Qaddumi.

The WCC President added, “The recognition by the World Crafts Council enhances cultural exchanges and fosters mutual understanding among different communities worldwide.
