Srinagar, Oct 12: The Department of Fire & Emergency Services in Jammu and Kashmir has initiated a large-scale cleanliness campaign aimed at enhancing the overall cleanliness of offices with a particular emphasis on space management. The program, themed ‘Clean India, Healthy India’, is being implemented in all Fire & Emergency Stations and offices across the Union Territory.
Under the initiative, a mega drive for cleanliness, space management, and beautification of all Fire & Emergency Stations and Offices has been launched. This comprehensive campaign is designed to create a healthier and more harmonious atmosphere in workplaces and their surroundings.
To expand the scope of the cleanliness drive, the Fire & Emergency Services, in collaboration with the Waqf Board Srinagar, conducted cleanliness initiatives at three historical shrines—Makhdoom Sahib, Peer Dastageer Sahib, and Jenab Sahab Soura. These efforts are part of a broader endeavor to ensure cleanliness not only within offices but also in significant public spaces.
Alok Kumar (ADGP), Director of Fire & Emergency Services J&K, is personally overseeing the program. He stressed upon the importance of commitment to cleanliness among all Command Officers and Jawans. He has directed for actively participating in the cleanliness drives and contributing to fostering a healthy and harmonious atmosphere in their respective stations and offices.
The special cleanliness campaign, which commenced on October 2, will continue until October 31, 2023, reflecting the department’s dedication to promoting cleanliness and hygiene in the region.
